    MAINFREIGHT AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN ATTITUDE 2025

    The Mainfreight Award for Excellence in Attitude was launched in 2019. The award recognises senior students at our Mainfreight-sponsored schools who have shown a positive attitude in all areas of school life or who have been recognised for having accomplished a major goal or made an exceptional effort at school during the year. The award is granted to the most deserving student at each school.

    The 2025 awards were presented to winning students during Term 4, 2025 Book Giving Assemblies or at graduation ceremonies. Mainfreight provided each winner with a copy of Knowledge Encyclopedia Science, 2nd Edition Hardcover; an engraved silver cup; and a certificate personally signed by Rodd Morgan, Group General Manager of Mainfreight Australia.

    The 2025 winners are:

    ALTONA NORTH PRIMARY SCHOOL (Vic): Mohamed Taleb (Grade 6) – For his positive attitude in all aspects of school life.
    BROADMEADOWS PRIMARY SCHOOL (Vic): Ahad Pasha (Grade 6) – For always enthusiastically participating in all learning, particularly reading, and shows constant improvement as he applies his learning.
    CAROLE PARK STATE SCHOOL (Qld): Samrawit Kindie (Grade 6) – Samrawit always has a positive attitude to learning. She takes it upon herself to know what we are about to learn and does her own homework to ensure she has knowledge prior to and during all units of work, particularly maths and science. She gives 100% effort and is always respectful.
    CHALLA GARDENS (SA): Mai Tam (Mary) Nguyen (Year 6) – Mai Tam gets on with the task at hand, no questions asked.
    DANDENONG SOUTH PRIMARY SCHOOL (Vic): Subair Kuniyil Mazoom Rajad (Year 5/6) – Subair has been selected to receive the Mainfreight Award in recognition of his outstanding behaviour, positive attitude, and consistent effort. He is a respectful and considerate student who treats others with kindness and empathy, always aware of how his words and actions affect those around him. Subair upholds the school’s values by following rules and setting a strong example for his peers. He is a great role model for other students.
    DOONSIDE PUBLIC SCHOOL (NSW): Sarah Al Rubaie (Class 5/6) – Sarah Al Rubaie has been nominated for consistently demonstrating outstanding school spirit by actively participating in a wide range of school programs and events. Her enthusiasm, positivity, and commitment makes her a valued and inspiring member of our school community.
    DUBBO NORTH PUBLIC SCHOOL (NSW): Ethan Collin (Year 6) – Ethan has demonstrated exceptional attitude toward schooling since he began at DNPS in kindergarten. He participates in all learning opportunities across all Key Learning Areas, completing them with determination and care. Ethan has demonstrated excellent attendance and loves assisting others in the classroom and on the playground.
    DUNDULA STATE SCHOOL (Qld): Taylor Heikkineni (Year 6) – Taylor has worked hard this year to improve her literacy skills in both reading and writing. She is diligent in her studies and works hard to improve. Taylor is making positive choices and is developing in confidence. Well done, Taylor!
    ELIZABETH SOUTH PRIMARY SCHOOL (SA): Fiona Zaidi (Year 6) – Fiona has been a role model at school, consistently upholding our school values, that is, We are respectful; We take pride; We are safe; We are united as a team; and We are powerful learners.
    GLENROI HEIGHTS PUBLIC SCHOOL (NSW): Tahlia Howell (Year 6) – Tahlia is a high potential learner who excels in academics. She takes on feedback and always strives to improve her learning.
    HARLAXTON STATE SCHOOL (Qld): Jakob Jenkins (Grade 6) – Jakob consistently approaches all areas of school life with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. He takes great pride in his senior responsibilities, completing every task with reliability and energy. He treats both his classmates and teachers with kindness and respect, showing care and thoughtfulness in everything he does. Jakob truly deserves this award for his consistently positive outlook and the immense effort he has put towards his learning this year.
    HILLVUE PUBLIC SCHOOL (NSW): Shylo Carter (Year 6) – Shylo is a dedicated and thoughtful student who consistently demonstrates kindness, respect and a genuine love of learning. She approaches every challenge with determination and curiosity and her passion for reading inspires those around her. Shylo is always willing to help others, showing empathy and maturity beyond her years. Through her positive attitude, teamwork and commitment to doing her best, Shylo is a true role model for her peers and a valued member of our school community.
    HUME PUBLIC SCHOOL (NSW): Hudson Kardol (Year 5) – Hudson is a considerate and caring student who consistently demonstrates kindness and support to his peers both in the classroom and on the playground. His natural leadership qualities enable him to guide and encourage others positively, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. Hudson actively participates in his own learning, showing enthusiasm and engagement in all classroom activities. His dedication to personal growth, combined with his genuine care for those around him, makes him a deserving recipient of this award.
    KEMBLAWARRA PUBLIC SCHOOL (NSW): Yasmeen Idris (Year 6) – Yasmin is a passionate Year 6 student who has taken on the role as a reading tutor in our school this year. Each morning before school, Yasmeen volunteers her time to read and support younger students with their own reading development. As part of this role, she has taken her own personal time to prepare for sessions and has increased her own application to home reading.
    LIDDIARD ROAD PRIMARY SCHOOL (Vic): Charlie Johnston (Grade 6) – Charlie has consistently proven to be a positive role model for her peers and younger students across the school. She has been a valuable member of our Reading Tutor team who meets with a Prep Buddy for reading each week. Charlie works hard to engage her buddy and helps them to practice their reading skills.
    MATRAVILLE SOLDIERS SETTLEMENT PUBLIC SCHOOL (NSW): Gail Hickey (Grade 5) – For consistently demonstrating kindness, positivity, and responsibility, inspiring those around her.
    NERANG STATE SCHOOL (Qld): Serena Ruff (Year 6) – This student is a quiet achiever who shines through her consistent positivity and determination. She approaches every challenge with a calm confidence and a smile, setting a wonderful example for others.
    NOBLE PARK PRIMARY SCHOOL (Vic): Hareem Jahangir (Grade 6) – She is “a focused learner who listens attentively, sets personal goals, and is respectful in all interactions, approaching new challenges with positivity”.
    SOMERTON PUBLIC SCHOOL (NSW): Toby Bungie-Beard Earl (Grade 4) – For consistent effort in all areas.
    TOWNSVILLE WEST STATE SCHOOL (Qld): Peppa-Lee Dicinoski (Year 6) – Peppa-Lee consistently demonstrates a positive outlook to all aspects of school life. She approaches challenges with determination and resilience. Peppa-Lee displays kindness and empathy towards her peers and is always willing to lend a hand and encourage others.
    WENDOUREE PRIMARY SCHOOL (Vic): Oliver Gullock (Grade 6) – Oliver approaches all aspects of his learning with determination and perseverance, always striving to achieve his personal best. He willingly participates in every opportunity offered to him, from classroom tasks to whole-school events, showing enthusiasm and a positive mindset. Oliver’s kindness and thoughtfulness towards others are noticed by both staff and peers, and he regularly shows appreciation for those around him through his words and actions. He treats everyone with mutual respect, valuing different opinions and working collaboratively and fairly in all group situations. Oliver is also an excellent communicator, consistently demonstrating attentive listening by following instructions carefully, engaging deeply in discussions, and contributing thoughtful ideas. Above all, Oliver’s positive attitude, hard work, and genuine care for others make him a valued member of our school community. He is a student who not only sets high expectations for himself but also lifts up those around him—a true example of what it means to live by our Tribes agreements each and every day.
    WOODBERRY PUBLIC SCHOOL (NSW): Zander Roach (Grade 6) – For engaging in all areas of school life with a positive attitude.
