ROTARY TURRAMURRA TRIVIA NIGHT 2025 RAISES $7500 FOR BOOKS IN HOMES
Sep 1, 2025 0[The Rotary Turramurra] Trivia Night on Tuesday 19th August 2025 was nothing short of an amazing success. A heartfelt congratulations to PDG Pam Pritchard AM and Andre Hariman, who led the night with energy and flair, and to every single club member who pitched in to make it such a wonderful event. The buzz in the room, the laughter, and the friendly rivalry all reminded me of the strength of our club spirit. Not only was it fun, but it also brought us together in a way that highlights the best of Rotary and was a successful fundraiser!
The Trivia and Fun Night was held to raise funds for the Books in Homes project at Moree East Public School. This project provides children with books to take home and keep, fostering literacy, confidence, and opportunity. Support came not only from this event but also from District 9685 grants, Lane Cove and Chatswood Roseville Rotary donations, and North Ryde’s Pudding Fundraiser. PDG Pam Pritchard AM gave a moving update about the recent visit to Moree and spoke about the difference the project makes to the community of Moree. In a video, Lorinda Potter, Executive Principal of Moree East Public School spoke about the incredible relationship Turramurra Rotary and Moree East Public School share, and the difference it makes to the children and community, having the visits from Turramurra Rotary Club and the support of Books in Homes.
Hosted by the debonair MC Mr Ian Stewart, the evening opened with an inspiring Welcome to Country from International Director Mark Hedges, followed by President Anne Walker warmly welcoming everyone to the night. Special guests including District Governor Michelle Ellery (Lower Blue Mountains RC [ALSO A SPONSOR OF BOOKS IN HOMES]) and Ruth Vumbaca, Vocational Service Chair and Rotary Community Leader (RCG5) who all received loud cheers from visiting Rotary Clubs members that included Lower Blue Mountains, Belrose, North Ryde, Berowra, Wahroonga, Warringah, St Ives, and, of course, the home teams Turramurra Rotary Club and Chatswood Roseville, who filled tables and worked tirelessly behind the scenes.
The auction ran in two stages: Online Silent Auction, with vigorous bidding across a wide range of donated prizes. In-room Auction—unsold items were auctioned live by President Anne, to plenty of laughter and excitement. Auction sales hit $1,650 and Raffle sales were about $2,000. Altogether, the night raised $7500.
It was truly an amazing night—full of friendly rivalry, laughter, and generosity. Most importantly, the funds raised will directly support the children of Moree East Public School through the Books in Homes program.
